Scripture
Mark 5:10, 12-13
Then the evil spirits begged Him again and again not to send them to some distant place…”Send us into those pigs,” the spirits begged. “Let us enter them.” So Jesus gave them permission. The evil spirits came out of the man and entered the pigs…
Own words/Observation
Jesus is approached by a man with evil spirits living inside of him. The evil spirits not only knew who he was, but they also knew the power that he had. The evil spirits asked Jesus not to cast them out of the man and into a far away town. Jesus listens to the request of the evil spirits and chooses to keep them in the area by casting them out of the man and into a herd of pigs.
Application
Jesus desperately wants us to ask Him for things in life. He is willing to not only listen to us, but also to answer our requests. Think about it…in this passage He answers the request of evil spirits, and we, His people, are so much more valuable to God than evil spirits. I need to come to Jesus boldly with my prayer requests because He wants to answer them.
Prayer
God, thank You for showing me today how important prayer requests are to You. Today, I pray that you would bring to remembrance the message we taught to the students yesterday about making a U-turn in life and that they would repent with their actions this week.

S – Mark 3: 35 Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.
O – Jesus’s family was outside and wanted to talk with them. But Jesus wanted everyone to know that it was not just his physical family that he was calling, it was anyone that would do his will was also his family.
A – God didn’t say if you have something to offer, he said if you do my will you are my brother, sister and mother. In God’s world it is not always about my ability, but rather it is about my availability and willingness to do his will that he wants from me.
P – God help me to be available and obedient to do what you have called me to do.
S: Mark 1:17 “Jesus called out to them ‘Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!’ And they left their nets at once and followed him.”
O: Jesus called out to Simon and Andrew and without question or hesitation they dropped everything and followed him. What amazing faith! They left their work to go and spread the word not knowingg how they would eat or survive but they totally trusted that Jesus would take care of them if they just simply followed him.
A: I need to be more like Simon and Andrew, and not worry about the distractions of life and just follow Christ. Too many times we get worried about what is going to happen that we take our focus off God. Simon and Andrew had such faith to just step out and know that God would provide. I need to give EVERYTHING in my life up to him and trust that he will take care of me just like he did his disciples.
P: Heavenly Father, Help me to have faith like Simon and Andrew. Today I give everything to you God, my finances, my business, my family, everything. I know from reading your word that you will supply all our needs so from here on out I am trusting fully in you knowing that you will supply all my needs. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Scripture:
The spirit then compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness, where he was tempted by Satan for forty days. He was out among the wild animals, and angels took care of him. Mark 1:12-13
Own Words/Observation:
Jesus did so many amazing things, that mark decides to just sum up this long period of time with one sentence. But even though Jesus was in the wilderness for so long, the angels took care of him and he wasn’t hurt.
Apply it:
I need to always remember that God will take care of me. No matter what’s going on around me, God will always be in control.
Prayer:
God thanks so much for loving me so much that you sent Jesus down here to die for me. Thank you for being in control of every part of my life. Help me to always remember that you are faithful! In Jesus name, Amen.

S – Scripture
Acts 28:30-31
For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.
O – Own words/observation
Paul was sent to Rome as a prisoner to see Caesar. This verse says he was there two years so far without seeing Caesar and he’s just hanging out preaching the gospel. Paul was a “go with the flow” guy. Instead of worrying about being a prisoner in Rome, he’s looking at the positive side of things. He’s preaching the gospel constantly. I’m wondering if Paul hadn’t been sent to Rome, how long would it have taken the gospel to reach that area? God used this situation with Paul to further the gospel. God knew Paul would preach wherever he was so Paul goes to Rome as a prisoner.
A – Application
I want to be a “go with the flow” girl! I want God to use me wherever I am in whatever I’m doing to further the gospel for Him! I want to have the perspective that every day is a day for furthering God’s kingdom. It’s not about me. It’s about God and me fitting into His plans and not the other way around!
P – Prayer
God, thanks for reminding me today that You can use me no matter where I am. I can be at the grocery store, gas station, dr’s appt, wherever, and I can represent You. Help me to recognize that every day is about YOU. Help the students to see that no matter what’s going on in their life, You are there and You can use them. Help us all to “go with the flow” of reaching out to the lost world around us. I love you, God!!! Amen.
